1st September, 2016: Faizal E. Kottikollon, Founder-Chairman of KEF Holdings, and Faizal and Shabana Foundation was honoured with the prestigious P.V. Sami Memorial Award 2016 for his valuable contribution in business and philanthropy. The award has been instituted in the memory of P.V. Sami, Founder of Kerala Transport Company and every year achievers are honoured with this award for their contributions in diverse sectors. This year, Faizal E. Kottikollon was selected by an eminent jury panel comprising of M.P. Veerendrakumar (MP and Chairman and MD of Mathrubhumi), Prof. Dr. C.K. Ramachandran and well known Director Sathyan Anthikad for his visionary approach to modern infrastructure and relentless development of education and healthcare and in Kerala.
9 June, 2016: GVHSS for Girls, Nadakkavu was awarded the first prize by the Kerala State Pollution Control Board (PCB) for their commitment to protecting the environment and keeping their school clean. The prize included an award, a plaque and a cash prize of INR 1 Lakh, which will be used to continue to improve and enhance the school.The school won the prize in the ‘Haritha Vidhyalaya’ (green school) category for its green spaces, the upkeep of the school and the involvement of the Faizal & Shabana Foundation to ensure the school’s environment is maintained to the highest standards.The school was presented the award by Kerala’s Health and Social Welfare Minister, K K Shylaja, at an awards ceremony that took place at Kanakakunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram.
20 March, 2016: Recognizing her commitment to responsible business in the UAE and India, Kairali TV has conferred the NRI Woman Entrepreneur Award to Shabana Faizal, Chief Corporate Officer (CCO) and Vice-Chairperson of KEF Holdings. It was presented by Chairman of Kairali TV and Malayalam superstar Mr. Mammootty. Titled ‘The Kairali TV NRI Entrepreneur Awards’, this was the Malayalam TV channel’s first-ever business excellence awards.and juried by Ashraf Ali,Issac John, senior business correspondent at Khaleej Times and C K Menon, chairman and CEO of Behzad Corporation.
17 March, 2016: The ‘Business Excellence Award 2016’ by The Indian Business and Professionals Council was presented to Mr Faizal by H.H Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development.
10 December, 2015: Mr Faizal was presented the Construction Innovation Award by the Consul General of India, Anurag Bhushan at the Indian Innovation Awards held in Dubai. The Award is an acknowledgement of the revolution the company has brought about in the construction and infrastructure industry by the use of advance technology and robotics.
11 November, 2015: The Arabian Business Achievement Award acknowledges business excellence and is hosted by Arabian Business Magazine, the flagship business publication of the ITP Publishing Group. Among the various categories, Mr Faizal was presented with the Visionary of the Year Award in recognition of his work to upgrade public education in India to international standards using KEF’s innovative off-site construction technology.
8 September, 2015: The 120-year-old Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for Girls’ in Nadakkavu in Kozhikode, after a complete upgrade under the PRISM initiative, was ranked among the top 5 Government day schools in the country in the Education World India School Rankings of 2014. Thousands of Government day schools were assessed through interviews with a 1000 parents. GVHSS achieved outstanding scores across a number of parameters including infrastructure provision, quality and competency of the school’s facilities, as well as welfare and development of teachers, and value for money.
7 May, 2015: KEF Holdings was selected as one of 6 finalists, globally, for the Unilever Global Development Award which is given out by Business in the Community (BITC). The Award is supported by Business Fights Poverty, an organisation that connects professionals from businesses, non-profits and governments that can work together on sustainable business solutions to fight poverty. It identifies business programmes that are demonstrating a positive impact in addressing global poverty as captured in the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Additionally businesses are rewarded for integrating responsible practices into their businesses in areas that cover the environment, education, enterprise, unemployment and workplace diversity, whether globally, nationally or locally.
29 March, 2015: The AIF (American India Foundation) awarded Mr. Faizal and Mrs. Shabana Faizal with the 2015 Leadership Award for “Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy” during a gala organised in Atlanta, USA. The award was presented to Mr Faizal by Dinesh Paliwal, Chairman, President and CEO of Harman International and a member of the AIF Board of Directors in recognition of the work done by KEF Holdings and the Faizal & Shabana Foundation The gala was organized in partnership with US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPACC), the oldest and largest organization representing Asian American businesses in the United States.
31 October, 2010: The first award ever won by KEF Holdings was the prestigious Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award (MRM). The company received the award in the UAE Free Zones Manufacturing category. Mr Faizal Kotikollon accepted the award from Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The award recognises the company’s performance in eight key areas including leadership, strategy, customer, workforce and talent management, operations and processes, innovation, governance and corporate social responsibility.
